Last week we informed you about the progress of searching for the right design company to do business with. Unfortunately, it looks like we’re tossing out both of our ideas, Innate Media Group and 2Advanced, and we’re going to look at other companies to see what they have to offer. Innate Media Group is a great company and we have nothing against them and their owner Will Webb, we just didn’t want to rush into things (we may go back to IMG for just the logo and design). As for 2Advanced, we tried contacting them through their contact form two times and called their office and left messages. We have yet to receive a reply. For now, we’re putting the design aspect on hold until we feel that we’ve found a reputable company that we can put our confidence into that will be able to provide us with the website we hope for.

We mentioned in our first post, developing an idea into reality, that Swolled is going to be a merchandising business (reseller). This last week we’ve been busy contacting top companies in our industry such as Optimum Nutrition, Universal Nutrition, Cytosport, Met-Rx, Energy-Athletics-Strength, Ultimate Nutrition, and much more. We’ve received replies from most of the companies and they are all excited to be doing business with us. Most of them ask for details about our business and website and what we plan on doing as a reseller of their products. They then offer to send us more information about their wholesale packages and we gladly accept.

Contacting the companies and their distributors has made us realize a lot more things we hadn’t thought through yet. Things such as getting a warehouse and keeping inventory because we’ve found out that not all companies are willing to drop ship their products, thus making things more complicated. We also learned that we will need to obtain our reseller license for the state of California, which we’ll work on first thing once we finish this last quarter of school.

All in all, we believe that our plans are a little behind schedule (because of the design complications), but overall things are running pretty smoothly. We’re also trying to be as organized as possible so that it doesn’t come back to hurt us later on.
