Drink Caffeinated Green or Black Tea
Caffeine is a stimulant and stimulants tend to increase the amount of calories you burn. One of the likely reasons is that caffeine can give you a short term boost of energy, which could mean that you move more. Caffeine can also change your metabolic rates in your body which can result in more calories burned. Jamie Pope from Vanderbilt University said that consuming 250 milligrams of caffeine with a meal can increase the calories spent metabolizing the meal by 10%. Over time this can be significant. About 75 calories per day translates to about 2,100 calories every month.

Over the years, studies have suggested that green and black tea may have more benefits beyond the caffeine that they contain. One study showed a reduction in food intake in rates that were given polyphenol, which is found in green tea. Another study consisting of humans, concluded green tea had heat producing and calorie burning properties beyond what could be explained by caffeine.

Having tea with your meals can have another fat fighting effect. Tea extract can interfere with the body’s absorption of carbohydrates when consumed in the same meal. Even though the possible effects are slight, there is one more bonus to drinking tea. Instead of drinking a beverage like soda with calories, you can have a zero calorie cup of tea, which can reduce the number of calories you take in.

Eat Breakfast
There is evidence supporting the link between people who skip breakfast and the increase in body weight. Research has shown that when people skip breakfast, they tend to eat more calories at the end of the day.

To build a better breakfast, you can incorporate some fat. Fat is important because it helps slow the absorption of carbohydrates in your blood stream. This will allow you to feel as if you have more energy or a more steady flow of energy throughout the day. Eating a healthy breakfast certainly makes sense as a lifestyle habit.

Eat Low Fat Dairy
The calcium in low fat dairy products doesn’t specifically help burn more calories, but it may help discourage body fat in a couple of ways. When we consume low fat dairy, you absorb fewer fat calories from meals. Also eating more calcium rich foods, including low fat dairy products has been linked to lower amounts of belly fat in white males.

Drink 8 Cups of Water Each Day
By drinking 8 cups of water each day (2 liters) can help you burn up to 100 extra calories everyday. This may not sound like much, but it adds up. 100 calories each day in a week is 700, and that is equal to 2,800 calories in a month. By drinking 8 cups of water each day you area also keeping your intestines and kidneys happy. It also helps to keep us from confusing thirst from hunger.
